An exact copy of the Teaser, an award winning racing motorboat originally designed by famous marine architect George Crouch, the original Typhoon was built for Edsel Ford, who wanted a fast commuter boat to travel up the Detroit River from the Ford plant in Detroit to his home on Lake St. Claire. The boat was over 40' long, was powered by a 600 hp 2000 cu. in. Wright Typhoon engine and could seat 8 adults. In 1941 Ford sold the boat to Howard Hughes who kept it running during WWII but sold it shortly thereafter. It was reportedly destroyed in a dock fire in Seattle in 1968.
